If you’re working in the Valencia region and want to track your monthly stipend, the Espenta website is your new best friend: GVA Espenta. It’s straightforward once you know what to do, but it can feel like decoding the matrix the first time. Here’s a full walkthrough so you can check your payment like a pro.
Step 1: Log in to Espenta
You’ll need a few pieces of information:
- NIE Number: Enter your Número de Identidad de Extranjero.
- Importe Líquido: Type in 1000, which is the standard monthly stipend.
- Últimos 3 Dígitos de Cuenta Bancaria: Just the last three digits of your bank account.
- Ejercicio: Enter the current year (e.g., 2025).
Confirm that you’re not a robot, and then hit “Validar”. Once you do, you should see your payment status. Take a screenshot or jot down the confirmation info, trust me, it’s a lifesaver if you ever need to follow up with your coordinator.
Step 2: Understand the Payment Stages
Your stipend moves through four stages:
- Nothing in Espenta – it hasn’t been processed yet.
- Invoiced – you’ll see a date under Fecha Factura, but nothing in Fecha Pago.
- Money Sent – a date now appears in Fecha Pago. This is when your bank actually starts processing the money.
- Money Received – finally, it lands in your account.
Good to Know:
- If you have an N26 account, expect the money one day later than other Spanish banks.
- The first batch of payments usually moves everyone from Stage 1 → 2, then 2 → 3. Don’t panic if it’s slow.
Step 3: Using DigiCert
If you have a DigiCert certificate, skip typing anything manually. Just click Acceso Certificados, and it should log you in automatically. This often avoids the weird error codes.
Step 4: Common Espenta Errors Explained
Here’s what those cryptic messages actually mean:
- “No se reconoce el interlocutor comercial para el NIF recibido”
Usually, your IBAN isn’t recognized, often because you have no pending payments. Check the last digits of your account; if it ends in 000, this happens a lot. - “Datos introducidos no correctos”
Translation: “Something’s wrong, but we won’t say what.” Try logging in with DigiCert. - “El NIF seleccionado no tiene pagos”
Simple: You have no payments in the system yet. Stage 2 hasn’t started. - “Falta completar el campo obligatorio ‘ULT_3DIG_CTA’”
The last three digits of your IBAN weren’t accepted. Double-check them and try again.
‼️ Even if Espenta shows your payment, it won’t hit your bank account until there’s a number under Número de pago. At that point, all you can do is wait. Espenta has already done its job.
Step 5: When to Start Pushing
If your payment still isn’t showing up by the time the first person hits Stage 3, contact your school or coordinator to confirm:
- All documents are submitted correctly
- Your monthly follow-up is complete
Remember, the process is:
School → Conselleria → Payroll → Espenta → Your Bank
Once it’s in Espenta, your only job is to wait for the bank to process it.
Quick Reminder
- Don’t panic if your payment doesn’t show immediately; updates can take a few days, especially around weekends or holidays.
- Each month’s payment is independent, so a delay in November doesn’t mean December will be late.
- Keep screenshots of confirmations for reference.
Tracking your payment in Valencia isn’t magic, but it can feel like it. Follow these steps, understand the stages, and know when to wait and when to push. Once you get the hang of Espenta, checking your stipend will feel like second nature.
Love always,
