A big question that I often get asked is, “Why make the move? Why Spain?” My cheeky response might be, “Why not?” But seriously, you must know by now that I love to travel. If you really know me, then you know I tend to get bored easily and I’m always on the go. When I moved to LA, I was craving more out of life. Now, I find myself in that same phase again.
This time, however, I have the experience of moving away from home under my belt. I have greater confidence in myself and my abilities. I believe that moving abroad will help me grow in more ways than one by forcing me out of my comfort zone once again. I’ve spent so much time living outside my comfort zone that it’s become comfortable being in the unknown.
Moving to a new place has already changed my life for the better, so I want to do it again, but this time, I want to do it differently. I’m young, healthy, and curious, and I want to live a life so exciting that I have countless stories to tell. The best answer I can give is that I want to learn and grow as a person. There is so much opportunity out there, and you could never be bored in a world full of endless possibilities.
Spain offers a unique blend of vibrant culture, rich history, and a laid-back lifestyle that I find incredibly appealing. The thought of immersing myself in a new language, diversifying my food palette, and experiencing the warmth of Spanish hospitality excites me. Spain has already welcomed me with open arms, and it’s one of the few countries that truly encourages expats to integrate into the culture.
Here, I feel genuinely “wanted” and appreciated; the Spanish people are eager to connect with Americans, fostering a bridge of friendship between our two nations. In contrast, life in LA often felt oversaturated and impersonal, as if I were just another addition to the traffic.
I also look forward to making new connections and friendships that will broaden my perspective and enrich my life. Embracing a new way of life, adapting to different customs, and learning from the locals will undoubtedly be a transformative experience. I’ve already met so many unique people who have been kind enough to invite me to visit them. Making friends around the world is one of the most rewarding aspects of travel. I’m not advocating taking advantage of these relationships, but rather embracing the opportunity to be open-minded and accepting of other cultures, which can lead to even more enriching experiences.
So, why do I want to move? Because I want to seize the opportunity to live life to the fullest, embrace new challenges, and create unforgettable memories. The world is full of endless possibilities, and I’m ready to dive in headfirst. Moving to Spain represents not just a change in location, but a chance to grow, learn, and thrive in a vibrant, welcoming environment.
Taking the leap to move away from home is undeniably risky, but it’s often where the greatest rewards lie. I’ve learned to wager on myself and to trust my instincts and abilities. This journey has already deepened my understanding of both myself and the world, yet I remain open to continuous growth and improvement. Salud for making it this far!
Love always,
